Barb Rose and Sarah Gleason
Principals and partners in Side by Side Associates since
2005
Barb Rose has
extensive experience working with diverse organizations and
communities. Her previous experience includes managing
Wilder Foundation’s Neighborhood Leadership Program, and
editing Community Matters, a publication addressing
critical community issues in the East Metro area. She was
one of the original organizers and trainers for the
Minnesota Participation Project, a civic engagement
initiative of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. She has
served on the boards of several community and arts
organizations, as well as on the Headwaters Foundation’s
Capacity Building Committee, and is currently on the board
of Community Solutions Fund. Barb is a qualified IDI

Sarah Gleason has extensive experience in
training and program management. Her experience includes
training Peace Corps volunteers in several African
countries, managing AmeriCorps national service programs in
St. Paul, and training AmeriCorps staff and members
nationally. Like Barb, Sarah was one of the original
organizers and trainers for the Minnesota Participation
Project. She is a leader with ISAIAH, a faith-based social
justice organizing coalition, and has served on the
Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Policy Cabinet. Sarah was
the lead author for Crossing Borders, Sharing Journeys:
Effective Capacity Building With Immigrant And Refugee
Groups. Sarah is a qualified administrator of the IDI.
